  • 2nd Lieutenant officer of the Royal Engineers, World War 1 date certain 1914-1918, identity certain. Walter Norman Couldrey served in World War 1 with his final rank as Major.Devonshire Fortress Engineers. He was born 7 August 1884 in Paignton, Devon and died in March 1970 Paignton, Devon. He one sister and three brothers. He married on the 24th August 1904 to Katie Naylor Mayne and they had two sons, Geoffrey (1904-1972) and Stuart (1908-1989). His career after the war was noted in 1939 as a Chartered Architect. <br />
