The Timepix launch took place on 7th March at Manchester Central Library and was covered by BBC North West during Breakfast TV and again later. Yunas Mulla  then posted this great summary on  which demonstrates the value that Timepix can add to a community.

Granada TV also came along and really got in the spirit of things by recreating one of the photos that was orignally taken outside of the library

We love them both and really appreciated their interest. As a result one lady got in touch to say she had seen a photo of herself with her mother that she had no idea had been taken and we also presented an enlargement of the Greyhound Inn in Oldham to the present owners of the pub.

These photos belong to Manchester Archives+ having been donated by Ordnance Survey Manchester staff in the 1990s. There are 46,000 photos of Greater Manchester in total. If you are reading this in 2019 they should all be scanned and mapped by now!
