1909 Wally Price with Ronald Phillips
Informal outdoors portrait scanned from a glass negative by Henry Dunning of Usk, Monmouthshire. Wally Price has not been found on the census so far, but he has not travelled far for this photograph in Conigar Walk, Usk because he is wearing slippers rather than shoes. Even though neither is smiling it seems to be a peaceful and affectionate portrait. Wally price appears a studious young man as evidenced by his specatacles and the book in his pocket and young Ronald (age 2) has brought along a wooden toy train. This is a summer photo because both have straw hats. Toddler Ronald Hamlyn Phillips was the son of Reginald and Edith Phillips who lived at Tan y Coed, Llanbadoc. His father was a clerk at the steel works.
