1893 Edith Boulton2
December 1893 studio portrait scanned from a glass negative by Henry Dunning of Usk, Monmouthshire. This is 23-year-old Edith Augusta Boulton who was the daughter of Dr Donald Boulton and Clara Boulton of New Market Street, Usk. She was the younger of two daughters, the other being Catherine. The photographer notes her name down as 'Edie' rather than using the formal 'Miss Boulton' suggesting she is already known to him. She wears a well-tailored winter jacket over a high collared white shirt with a tie fastened with a tie pin. Even though the fabric is patterned and with bold buttons the overall effect is extremely neat. Catherine and Ethel benefitted from a live in governess and a servant. Edith eventually married Charles Ernest Marsh in 1906 when she was 36, but her sister remained a spinster. No further information has been found about Ethel and Charles.
