SmithPhoto05, 1890s cabinet card by unknown photographer
School photo with T Smith written on the back. The position of the name could be taken to mean that Mr Smith is the gentleman on the right (certainly the boys are far less well-dressed than other children shown in this album). Holding a chalk board in front is traditional, but normally it would say the class and school name. This one says 'schools' of St John the Evangelist, East Dulwich. There are only 14 boys so it could be a special outing or Sunday School class.
